Jetta reddit. IDK if this is just me, but every Volkswagen I have driven (Tiguan, Jetta, Golf) have had piss-poor throttle response and steering. It's like you push down the pedal and the computer is just like nah. The electric steering feels gross to me as well. This is coming from an 08 Acura TL though, which has hydraulic steering.

The price, mpg, interior space and such I think is just so much better than the competition. What sucks is the warranty vs Kia and Hyundais andddd Volkswagen had an over 5 percent price hike on parts. Gonna be a lot more expensive compared to others to fix down the line. And ya new is cheaper than used right now.

1.5T are relatively new in the north American market with the Taos. But if they are anything like the 1.4's i would say they are pretty reliable. I own a Taos no problems yet, just a bored out 1.4T.
